Start with the issuing authority
A forwarded summary may miss the effective date, the businesses covered, or an amendment to an earlier notice. Save the direct link to the issuing authority's document, its number, and its publication date. Treat commentary as an aid to reading the source, not as the source itself.
Make three decisions for each notice
Applicability: Which entity, transaction, or filing does it affect?
Timing: When does it take effect, and is there a transition or correction?
Owner: Who will update the process, communicate the change, and retain evidence?
Keep a short decision trail
One row per notice is enough: source URL, date reviewed, affected entity, conclusion, action, owner, and completion date. Review open actions at the next compliance meeting. Official Income Tax, CBIC, and MCA portals provide the source material; the business still has to decide what applies to its own facts.
